Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing job training, employment placement, and support services for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. POSITION SUMMARY: (WHAT, HOW, WHY)
Goodwill's Rapid Re-housing program provides intervention to help individuals/families that are experiencing homelessness quickly move out of shelter or off the streets into permanent housing as quickly as possible. Rapid Re-housing provides shot term rental assistance and case management services designed to assist people experiencing homelessness to sustainable permanent housing. Responsible for: providing multiple case management services to all assigned participants.
Direct service provision includes intakes, assessments, contracts for housing expectations, and acquisition for all program participants; independent living skills training as needed; and service strategy preparation. In addition, attends Housing-related meetings and client case consultations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in social services or related field. Licenses Social Worker (LSW) preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1 year paid experience in Social Services.
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of case management techniques; familiarity with special needs of marginalized populations; knowledge of local community services; ability to communicate effectively (oral and written); knowledge and experience with computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite preferred. Knowledge of homelessness, housing-first approach, client engagement, and/or community resources, preferred. Ability to work independently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
4. Prepares monthly activities report for supervisor.
OCCASIONAL DUTIES:
1. Works with other program staff as assigned.
2. Takes incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate office staff.
3. Other relevant and necessary duties as assigned by the supervisor.
