Organizational Overview

The Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3

CDC) is a 501(c)(3), tax‑exempt, private, non‑profit corporation. The organization’s mission and strategic focus is to strengthen the core assets of downtown by revitalizing and connecting the Central Business District and Over‑the‑Rhine (OTR). 3

CDC works in close collaboration with the Cincinnati corporate community and City of Cincinnati to carry out its mission. With an annual operating budget of $31 million, the organization has a team of approximately 140 full‑time staff and 180 part‑time staff engaged in real estate development, real estate management, civic space management and programming, and business district management.

  • Real Estate Development — To date, 3

    CDC has played a direct role in over $2.0 billion in development projects in downtown Cincinnati and the adjacent neighborhood of Over‑the‑Rhine. In completing over 100 development projects, 3

    CDC has reimagined key civic spaces, added market‑rate and affordable housing to the urban core and created density through mixed‑use residential and office projects that support local small businesses.
  • Real Estate Management — 3

    CDC leases and manages nearly 700,000 square feet of commercial space, almost 200 mixed‑income apartment units, and over 5,900 parking spaces with annual operating revenues exceeding $51 million.
  • Civic Space Management and Programming — 3

    CDC manages and programs seven civic spaces – Fountain Square, Elm Street Plaza, Court Street Plaza, Washington Park, Ziegler Park, Memorial Hall, and Imagination Alley. 3

    CDC hosts nearly 1,600 free family‑friendly events each year at these spaces.

Job Summary

Ziegler Park Summer Camp got its start in 2017, shortly after the park reopened to the public following a $32 million renovation. Located in the Pendleton neighborhood, near Over‑the‑Rhine, Ziegler Park creates an engaging atmosphere for local youth including a playground area, interactive water feature, basketball courts, and a full‑size swimming pool featuring a diving well and diving boards, climbing wall and 5 regulation lap lanes with diving platforms.

Campers participate in daily activities including nature programming, STEM‑programming, swimming, chess instruction and more.

The Camp Helper plays a key role in creating a safe, clean, and engaging camp environment by supporting both camper supervision and daily operational needs. This position combines elements of camp counseling, civic space ambassador, and onsite operations support. Camp Helpers assist with fun and enriching activities for children, fostering positive social interactions, and ensuring the safety and well‑being of all campers.

They also help maintain the cleanliness and organization of camp facilities, support layout setup and breakdown, and provide friendly customer service. Through active supervision, a welcoming presence, and consistent attention to safety and cleanliness, Camp Helpers contribute to a joyful, secure, and high‑quality experience for every camper.

Tasks
  • Support camp staff at all times and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.
  • Perform daily camp setup, complete weekly inventory, and maintain clean, organized, and accessible camp storage areas. Assist with trash removal, equipment needs, and general cleaning.
  • Assist with post‑lunch breakdown and refrigeration, conduct camp group safety checks, and support programming partners with load‑in/load‑out, activity setup, and breakdown.
  • Foster positive social interactions and help mediate conflicts within the park by cultivating positive customer service interactions and enforcing civic space rules.
