As an Intake Specialist, you'll be the welcoming voice and guiding hand that helps youth and families connect with the services they need. Whether you're answering a call, meeting with someone in person, or ensuring important information is entered accurately, your work creates the foundation for meaningful support and positive outcomes.

If you're organized, compassionate, tech-savvy, and love solving puzzles while helping people, this could be the perfect role for you!

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are exactly alike, but you'll spend your time:

  • Completing intakes and processing referrals with care, accuracy, and compassion.
  • Determining program eligibility and gathering required documentation.
  • Entering intake information into agency databases while ensuring data accuracy.
  • Enrolling youth in the GOSH system to meet funding requirements.
  • Supporting individuals who may be experiencing crisis, both in person and over the phone.
  • Working alongside program staff to ensure client information, service utilization, and outcome data are complete and accurate.
  • Training and supporting team members on data entry processes and electronic systems.
  • Creating and maintaining reports and database queries that help measure program success and improve services.
  • Helping ensure our programs meet regulatory, contractual, and reporting requirements.

  • Stays organized—even when juggling multiple priorities.
  • Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Enjoys working with technology and learning new systems.
  • Thinks critically and solves problems with confidence.
  • Values accuracy, ethics, and professionalism.
  • Believes every detail matters because every client matters.

This position is based in a professional office located within a homeless shelter, where you'll work alongside a dedicated team making a real impact every day.

  • Communicate with clients, coworkers, and community partners.
  • Stand, walk, and move throughout the office.
  • Use computers and office equipment.
  • Occasionally lift or move items up to 30 pounds.
Schedule

Most work takes place during regular business hours, with occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays to best support clients and program needs.

Some regional travel is required, including transporting clients using a personal vehicle when needed.
