Position Purpose

The Lead Life Enrichment Specialist provides leadership for resident engagement programming while fostering a culture of whole-person well-being across Affordable Living communities. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating meaningful life enrichment opportunities that promote purpose, connection, lifelong learning, and quality of life utilizing our eight dimensions of whole-person well-being model approach to all job duties.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ in a similar position with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Able and willing to work flexible hours
  • Be supportive of team and process based organizational culture.
  • Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the essential functions of the position can be fully met.
  • Able to relate to and work with the elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the community.
  • Able and willing to work independently with flexibility and integrity, as well as effectively and harmoniously with team members, residents, family members, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Has a passion for working with elders.
  • Must be fully up-to-date with required vaccinations.
As a Lead Life Enrichment Specialist you can expect to:
  • Oversees Life Enrichment Specialists and ensures consistent implementation of activities across communities.
  • Oversees and manages the Volunteer program within Affordable Living communities, including maintaining accurate records of volunteer information, and service hours.
  • Oversees the transportation program within the Cincinnati area including the planning of monthly trips and encourages resident’s participation in activities.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary Resident Support Team
  • Collaborates with the service coordination team and community managers on resident experience enhancements within the whole-person well-being model.
  • Lead resident engagement strategy.
  • Develop resident-led initiatives and committees
  • Nurtures community partners and neighborhood school partners and connects residents with other social organizations within the community.
  • Creates the monthly newsletter and calendar for the Affordable Living Communities.
  • Ensures activities are carried out on time and within budget. This may entail working the activity at times as well as purchasing supplies and hiring entertainers
  • Gathers information regarding the specific interests and needs of our residents and incorporates into planning events.
  • Actively seek out new and pertinent ideas and principles and incorporates them into existing activities/programs.
  • Creates reports for the Director of Resident Support on activities offered throughout the communities and on volunteer services.
  • Works collaboratively with all disciplines within the department to support holistic wellness.
