Cloud providers fail, and when they do, billions in SLA credits go unclaimed because the claims process is opaque and manual. Next Signal monitors major cloud vendors, detects disruptions in real time, and automatically manages the claims process so customers recover what they're owed without adding operational overhead. We're a small, technical team building something genuinely new. This is the kind of company you'll want to have been at from the start.

We're not looking for just another engineer. We want a builder who's excited to shape the architecture of a new category in cloud computing. This means contributing across the full stack: customer-facing product, backend services, data pipelines, and AI-powered automation. You'll help ship end-to-end features and work directly with the founding team.

This role is not for someone who prefers clearly defined playbooks or narrow, predictable responsibilities. It's not for engineers who would rather maintain existing systems than build new ones. If stability and incremental change are what you're looking for, this will feel misaligned.

• Customer-facing product built on React and Next.js
• Backend APIs, background jobs, and data pipelines that process cloud telemetry at scale
• AI-powered features that automate the claims process and surface insights for customers
• The infrastructure and tooling that keeps everything running as we scale

• Ship end-to-end features with guidance; own them over time
• Write AI-native; 80%+ of code is written with AI assistance and we expect fluency with these tools
• Optimize for speed, avoid over-engineering, and stay honest about tradeoffs
• Work in a 0-to-1 codebase where the decisions you make today will matter for years

• 3+ years of professional software development experience building and shipping production software
• Strong experience building frontend and/or backend systems (React, Next.js, APIs, databases, background jobs)
• Proven track record architecting and deploying core infrastructure in a major cloud environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Previous experience in a SaaS company or product environment
• Startup or high-growth team experience, even as a student or early intern
• Experience with AI tools, LLMs, or building agentic/AI-powered systems
• Ability to take loosely defined requirements, ask good questions, and scope and execute features with attention to speed and future scale
• A track record of building: previous roles, personal projects, hackathons, school work
• Strong bias for ownership and figuring things out in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
