FPGA Design Engineer
This isn't just another FPGA role—it's your chance to design the brains behind next-generation Electronic Safe and Arm Devices for mission-critical defense systems. You'll work on technology that directly impacts national security, using cutting-edge tools and architectures. If you thrive on solving complex logic puzzles and want your work to matter, this is where you belong.
You'll own the architecture, design, and development of FPGA and ASIC solutions for advanced weapon system fuzes. Your day-to-day will mix deep technical work with real-world impact:
- Design and debug FPGA and microcontroller hardware, plus the firmware that brings them to life
- Write Verilog HDL targeting Antifuse and enhanced Flash FPGAs (Microsemi/Actel is our playground)
- Build and verify sensor interfaces, A/D and D/A paths, communication protocols, state machines, and timer chains
- Use Questa Sim for simulation and System Verilog UVM for verification
- Develop C# code for enhanced Flash microcontrollers
- Analyze performance and functional issues in test environments or target host systems
- Contribute to process improvements that keep hardware-firmware quality high and time-to-market low
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree + 6 years of relevant experience (or Master's + 4 years, or 10 years without a degree)
- Strong Verilog skills for logic design
- C programming for embedded systems—algorithms, data structures, optimized code
- Hands-on experience with lab tools: logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG/ICE debuggers, protocol analyzers
Nice-to-Haves:
- System Verilog verification experience (AVM, VMM, OVM, or UVM)
- C# development for enhanced Flash microcontrollers
