THE OPPORTUNITY

Cincinnati Aquatic Club (CAC), widely regarded as one of the premier competitive swim programs in the Greater Cincinnati region, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head Coach to lead the next era of our program’s growth and excellence.

CAC combines strong competitive results with a deeply supportive, family‑oriented culture. We believe great programs develop not only fast swimmers, but confident, resilient young people. We are looking for a leader who shares that belief and is excited to build on our foundation to elevate CAC to the next level — competitively, culturally, and organizationally.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Head Coach serves as the strategic, cultural, and competitive leader of CAC, responsible for athlete development, staff leadership, and program direction. While administrative competency is important, CAC prioritizes culture‑building, technical excellence, and athlete development above all else.

The Head Coach reports to the Board of Trustees and partners closely with coaching staff to ensure CAC continues to be the team athletes and families choose for both performance and community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Culture & Community Leadership
  • Represent CAC with professionalism and integrity within the team, region, and broader swimming community
  • Embody and advance the mission and values of the club
  • Foster a family‑oriented environment where athletes support one another and feel they belong
  • Promote a culture where progress, growth, and character matter as much as results
  • Encourage the development of well‑rounded athletes and young people
  • Build a team identity centered on effort, resilience, and striving to be the best team on the deck
  • Maintain proactive, clear communication with athletes, parents, officials, and coaching peers
Leadership & Staff Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain a strong coaching staff
  • Provide ongoing professional development and technical upskilling for coaches
  • Align the staff around a shared philosophy of athlete‑centered development
  • Build continuity and leadership depth within the program
Athlete Development & Coaching
  • Actively coach the senior group while supporting age‑group coaches
  • Design and implement training plans tailored to swimmers of varied abilities and competitive goals
  • Promote long‑term athlete retention and enjoyment of the sport
  • Cultivate technical excellence, smart training progression, and racing confidence
  • Support collegiate recruiting guidance and long‑term athlete planning
  • Balance high performance with athlete well‑being and longevity in the sport
Program Operations & Administration
  • Collaborate with the Board on program direction, budgeting, and long‑term planning
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Team Unify or comparable club management systems
  • Understand basic financial operations, including building and managing program budgets
  • Support fundraising initiatives and help cultivate community partnerships
  • Utilize social media and communications platforms to promote team culture, achievements, and engagement
  • Maintain clear, professional, and proactive communication with the Board of Trustees
  • Oversee meet planning, team travel, and scheduling logistics
  • Ensure compliance with USA Swimming and Ohio LSC requirements

  • Believes in long‑term athlete development and retention
  • Communicates proactively and professionally across all stakeholder groups
  • Builds trust with athletes, parents, and staff
  • Brings energy, presence, and visibility on deck and within the community
  • Is motivated to take an already strong program and help it grow into something truly special
