Position:
Regional Driver – r reports to Operations
- Come to work “fit for duty”. Fit for duty is defined as being rested and prepared to drive for 11 hours
and be on duty for 14 hours. This may not happen daily, but be prepared. - Be prepared to drive miles per week unless assigned to a dedicated route
- Proficiency in Samsara logs and paperwork procedures.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the assigned fleet manager.
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections per Sewell standards
- Report all equipment damage to the assigned safety manager or staff member on duty.
- Report any accidents or traffic citations to the assigned safety manager or staff member on duty
- Complete and send in all required paperwork after delivery of each load.
- Complete trip envelopes no less than 1 time per week, or each time you come into dispatch
- Attend all required safety and driver meetings
- Report mechanical issues with the truck or trailer to the assigned equipment manager or staff member on duty
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while on duty.
- Keep your assigned truck neat and clean.
- Proactively communicate any delays or potential downtime to the assigned fleet manager or staff
member on duty.
- Willingness and ability to work based on available hours of service.
- Able to demonstrate proficiency in maneuvering a truck and trailer safely.
- Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
- Carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Be able to communicate with dispatch and customers effectively.
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Driving and moving about in all forms of weather and conditions
- Be comfortable using electronic equipment and software for navigation and local assignments.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather, mechanical issues, etc.)
- Valid CDL A
- Willingness to submit to background/drug checks and provide previous employment information.
- Must have a smartphone.
