Description
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team for a 12-hour day shift. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, with a strong understanding of warehousing operations and material handling equipment. This role involves the efficient and safe movement of materials, including loading and unloading, inventory management, and order picking. The Material Handler is expected to contribute to a smooth and organized warehouse environment, ensuring accurate shipping and receiving processes.
Responsibilities- Operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, to move materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Accurately pick, pack, and label orders for shipping, adhering to established procedures.
- Conduct cycle counting and inventory management to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Sort and organize materials within the warehouse, promoting a clean and organized workspace.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying shipments and documenting discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by performing regular housekeeping duties.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory and operational issues.
- Utilize computer systems for inventory tracking and order processing.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Working knowledge of material handling equipment, including pallet jacks.
- General knowledge of warehousing operations and inventory management principles.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in the English language.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and inventory tracking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with forklift truck operation.
- Familiarity with packaging and labeling procedures.
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes.
- Previous experience in a warehousing environment.
- Customer service experience.
