This position involves operating a powered pallet jack (PIT) or similar, using an RF device to pick orders accurately and timely, and maintaining a safe work environment. The role requires flexibility between LTL and Ship Line picking and packing, and certification in both pick types.
Responsibilities- Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT)
- Use RF technology (gladiator-type device) to pick orders accurately and timely
- Stack boxes onto a pallet, tolerating heights up to 84 inches, and label pallets with the applicable movable unit
- Apply correct customer carton labels during picking as necessary
- Identify and resolve picking issues, reporting repetitive errors to the Supervisor or Team Lead
- Maintain a clean work environment in racks, aisles, and PIT areas
- Immediately notify Supervisor of any safety issues
- Work between LTL and Ship Line order picking as needed
- Work an 8- or 10-hour day plus overtime as required
- Lift up to at least 50 pounds repeatedly
- Communicate effectively with teammates and leadership
- Process international orders
- Successfully complete a one-day Train the Trainer class
- Maintain holding training certifications for LTL and Ship Line picking
- Follow all safety guidelines and report violations promptly
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Train the Trainer certification within three months of assignment
- Goal oriented, able to work well under pressure and independently, with effective initiative
- Good judgment and effective independent work
- Proficient in all pick types and familiar with shipping instructions for all pick types
- Basic math and keyboard skills
- Attention to detail to adhere to 99.92% pick accuracy and maintain 95% efficiency rating
- Safety-first mindset
Frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions. May frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds. Must have close vision sufficient for reading handwritten or typed material and focus.
