About the Role

A day in the life: Our Finance Assistant is a detail-oriented professional looking to ignite their career in accounting. In this pivotal role, you will be the "command center" for our accounting department, ensuring our financial engine runs smoothly by managing critical data entry and providing daily operational support. We are looking for a self-motivated, "good human" who thrives in a hard-working but laid-back environment and is eager to learn the ropes of finance from the ground up.

On a given day, as a Finance Assistant, you will:

  • Execute high-accuracy data entry, perform thorough account reconciliations, and manage the end-to-end processing of vendor invoices and credit adjustments.
  • Process monthly credit card receipts, ensuring all transactions are accurately coded and verified against statements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for vendors and staff by monitoring dedicated email inboxes and resolving inquiries.
  • Coordinate the daily collection, sorting, and distribution of incoming postal mail and internal correspondence.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the Accounting Department to ensure efficient daily operations and timely month-end closing.
  • Adhere to all company safety and work policies.
  • Remain flexible, taking on miscellaneous duties as assigned by leadership to support evolving organizational needs.
Career Objective

This entry-level position offers exposure to the full accounting process within FORJAK and would offer exciting exposure to this career field if interested. Training and mentorship will be provided to ensure success in this role.

Schedule & Travel

This is a full-time Monday-through-Friday position with day-shift hours. This department provides a flexible schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-2 years of data entry experience, problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Google Workspace suite of applications and strong computer skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed to interact with vendors and team members clearly and professionally.
