Job Description Summary

Position:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Postpartum & Surgical Scrub Tech (OB/OR). Full‑time, night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). Functions in two roles: (1) Postpartum assignment (Moms and Babies) and (2) Scrub Tech in the OB OR. Previous surgical tech experience is not required but desirable.

• 25% Performs initial, ongoing and functional health status assessment. Collects and documents subjective and objective data, reviews data from other team members, identifies and communicates assessment findings via referrals, rounds, huddles, reports, and care conferences. Uses assessment data to identify nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems and works with providers and team members as appropriate.
• 25% Based on diagnoses and collaborative problems, documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs. Initiates and coordinates care plans and individualizes critical‑path/medical‑management plans. Promotes cost‑effective care by minimizing fragmentation and maximizing coordination. Accountable for quality improvement and clinical outcomes.
• 20% Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at determined intervals; revises the plan of care based on evaluative data.
• 20% Delegates tasks in accordance with state statutes, reviews work performed by those to whom it is delegated, coordinates continuity of care, participates in development of peers and others, and coaches employees as appropriate.
• 10% Actively participates in process‑improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. Acts as patient advocate, participates in committees, research, and self‑development programs, and manages resources to maintain a safe and efficient environment.

High School or GED (Required). BLS – Basic Life Support – American Heart Association. LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse – National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Must hold a current license from the State of Ohio, successfully complete an Ohio Board of Nursing approved medication course, and be a Basic Life Support Provider.
