Qnity of Circleville is hiring for a non‑exempt operator position. The role involves blending, mixing, and forming chemicals into our unique products, supporting chemical manufacturing and product finishing. Operators monitor process and field equipment and perform tasks according to company procedures, legal regulations, ISO requirements, and safety standards.
Operator Responsibilities- Move control settings to adjust equipment units affecting speeds of chemical reactions, quality, or yields.
- Monitor recording instruments, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators to verify process conformity.
- Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines using computer systems, panel boards, control boards, or semi‑automatic equipment.
- Record operating data, such as process conditions, test results, or instrument readings.
- Collect product samples and conduct quality control tests to ensure standards are met.
- Regulate or shut down equipment during emergency situations as directed by supervisory personnel.
- Start pumps to wash and rinse reactor vessels, exhaust gases or vapors, regulate flow of oil, steam, air, or perfume to towers, or add products to converter or blending vessels.
- Interpret chemical reactions and review laboratory test reports for process adjustments.
- Patrol work areas to prevent overflow of solutions in tanks or troughs.
- Turn valves to regulate flow of products or byproducts through agitator tanks, storage drums, or neutralizer tanks.
- Calculate material requirements or yields according to formulas.
- Gauge tank levels using calibrated rods.
- Repair or replace damaged equipment.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Willing and able to work a rotating shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on short‑notice call‑in as needed.
- Willing and able to lift 10 lb. frequently, 25 lb. regularly, 55 lb. occasionally; climb stairs, ladders, and columns; stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl; use visual acuity for close work; reach overhead; hear and respond to alarms; and work in various weather conditions.
- Willing and able to wear required PPE such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, protective eyewear, face shields, arc‑protective clothing, and SCBA.
- Willing and able to serve on the Circleville site emergency response team in firefighting, hazmat, confined‑space rescue, and medical first‑response capacities with appropriate training and equipment.
- Willing and able to work for any of the business divisions within Qnity at the Circleville site.
- Willing and able to work as a chemical or machine operator.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or similar environment, or 3 years of related experience, or a manufacturing certification.
- Experience working in 5S teams, lean manufacturing teams, or other quality/process improvement programs.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems, chemical reactions, or manufacturing processes.
