OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The Shipping / Receiving Clerk will coordinate daily shipping/logistics activities for the Circleville operations to satisfy all customer and supplier requirements.

Primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • CUSTOMER SERVICE
  • Works closely and effectively communicates with Office Personnel and Operations to exceed customer expectations by collaborating with other departments and building positive relationships with customers, suppliers, employees, and carriers.
  • Provides excellent customer service, ensuring that customers and employees receive exceptional support throughout all job responsibilities.
WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS
  • Monitors, troubleshoots, and provides timely resolution on delivery exceptions, rectifying issues such as delivery times, shortages, and non‑conformance.
  • Accurately processes documents as per specific customer requirements (shipping instructions, bills of lading, shipping labels, Canadian documents, etc.).
  • Reviews and ensures completeness for all shipping paperwork and activities.
  • Ensures that materials are on hand for all current and upcoming shipment needs (inventory control) and works with shipping personnel to process restacks/rework inventory.
  • Supports and trains shipping personnel.
  • Reviews the daily shipping schedule and monitors incoming orders to ensure inventory needs are met based on customer expectations.
  • Provides support to outside AWF Sales Representatives, including shipment coordination of sample products, tracking and maintaining proper sample inventory levels on‑site, and other sales support activities as assigned.
  • Assists Office Personnel with month‑end inventory controls and record‑keeping activities.
MOBILE EQUIPMENT OPERATION

Uses mobile equipment safely, efficiently, and responsibly. Duties include operating a forklift or front‑end loader to load or remove material from company or customer‑owned trailers. May also operate a yard jockey to position trailers on/off the dock.

QUALITY

Maintains and verifies that all current quality assurance measures are followed and communicated to supervisors, production employees, truck drivers, office personnel, and customers. Assists in the design and implementation of new procedures as needed.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Attends and participates in a monthly safety meeting. Pursues personal growth and works with fellow employees toward continuous improvement and teamwork. Assists the supervisor and office personnel as necessary. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Serves as backup for the Logistics Coordinator.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift 25 to 40 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma with 2+ years of experience in customer service, warehouse logistics, and inventory control.
  • Understanding of logistics transactions, processes, and documentation.
  • Customer‑centric orientation with the ability to professionally and promptly respond to email and phone inquiries.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and ability to quickly learn company business systems; excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a flexible, ever‑changing environment with ongoing interruptions.
  • Strong numerical and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines.
  • High degree of initiative and independent execution.
