- Perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing.

Qualifications Highway Maintenance Worker 1Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages, and fractions; ability to read, write, and speak common English. 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment. Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without air‑brake restriction.

Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without air‑brake restriction.
This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one‑year probationary period.
All third‑shift employees receive a 60¢ shift differential.
Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicant’s prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
All final applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointments. An applicant with a positive test shall not be offered employment.
