Driver Requirements:
Valid CDL A license 12 months of verifiable OTR tractor‑trailer experience.
Earn $90,000–$95,000 in the first year and a retention bonus up to $7,500. Pay structure: hourly, miles, stops, and cases. Day 1 benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, and company‑paid life insurance. Paid holidays, vacation time and sick leave accrue from day one. 401(k) profit‑sharing plan after 90 days. Responsibilities:
Inspect tractor‑trailer for defects pre‑/post‑trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition. Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off‑hour delivery. Drive tractor‑trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises. Maintain driver log (manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
At least 21 years of age. Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL‑A). At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor‑trailer driving experience. Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications. This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job‑related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role.

Dollar General Fleet – CDL‑A Truck DriverEarn up to $100,000 per year. Base pay ranges from $0.68 to $0.76 CPM, plus up to $70 per stop. Regional routes with weekly home time. Drivers average $78,000 annually – top 10% earn up to $98,000 per year. Pay per mile. Bonus incentives. All loads are preloaded, hook and drop, no‑touch freight. Set lanes – average 1,772 miles a week. Top‑of‑the‑line automatic transmission trucks – new equipment.
