Join Thames Water as a Mechanical and Electrical Apprentice, gaining hands-onskillswith key systems while working towards a Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician qualification.

Whatyou’llbe doing as a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer Level 3 Apprentice:

  • Learn tomaintainand repair plant and equipment, including motors, power supplies, actuators, pumps, valves, gearboxes, and pipework.
  • Gainknowledgein planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance, including responding to breakdowns.
  • Develop skills to complete jobs safely and keepaccuratework records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities as part of your training.
  • Work alongside skilled engineers, both independently and as part of a team, to build hands-on experience.

Whereyou’llwork:

Location: Latton GL7 5QF

Hours: 38-hour week over four working days plus one training day, with a 7:30am start

Training and qualification :

You’lltrain with Basingstoke College of Technology through on-campus or online sessions, with travel and accommodation covered in line with our travel expense policy

Qualification achieved: Engineering Maintenance Technician – Level 3 City & Guilds Diploma in Engineering (dual discipline)

Duration: Permanent contract with a 48-month structured programme

What you should bring to the role:

  • GCSE Maths and English. (grades 9–4 / A–C)
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Able to work well in a team and independently.
