A leading company in the Facilities Management industry is hiring a Multi Skilled Operative in Fairford Oxfordshire to support key Defence facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to carry out a varied range of maintenance and repair work that directly contributes to the safe and efficient operation of the Defence estate.

• Carry out reactive maintenance, repairs, compliance works and minor refurbishment projects across a portfolio of Defence sites.
• Undertake a variety of maintenance tasks including plumbing, basic electrical repairs, plastering, mechanical maintenance and general building repairs.
• Work across both domestic and commercial buildings, adapting to a varied and changing workload.
• Manage your workload digitally using a tablet or mobile device, ensuring accurate completion of maintenance records.
• Travel between sites using a company van and fuel card provided.
• Collaborate with a close‑knit engineering team while also working independently when required.
• Support general store keeping and yard duties as part of the wider site operation.
• Participate in an on‑call rota to support emergency maintenance requirements.

• Practical experience within maintenance, Facilities Management, construction, housing or a similar environment.
• Experience carrying out a broad range of building maintenance and repair tasks.
• A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation, including COSHH and RIDDOR.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to manage your own workload and adapt to changing priorities.
• Trade qualifications are desirable but not essential; strong hands‑on experience will also be considered.
• A full UK Driving Licence and eligibility to obtain Security Clearance (SC).

• £32,000-£35,000 salary
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract with the opportunity to become permanent
• Company van and fuel card for business travel
• Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
• On‑call rota (approximately 1 in 11 weeks, including evenings and weekends)
