Early Childhood Educator

The Goddard School® located in Clackamas, Oregon is looking for a dedicated, nurturing, and dependable full-time early childhood educator to join our team. At The Goddard School, we believe in getting to know our teachers and helping them get to know our program. All new faculty members begin as Resource Teachers, working alongside our Lead and Assistant Teachers in classrooms throughout the school.

This allows you to build relationships with our children, families, and staff while becoming familiar with each age group and our curriculum. As classroom teaching positions become available, we assign teachers from within our support staff, giving you the opportunity to transition into a consistent classroom when the right fit becomes available. We're looking for someone who is confident, positive, kind, flexible, and enjoys being part of a team.

Reliability and consistent attendance are essential, as our teachers and children depend on one another every day.

This is a full-time position. Team members must be available to work a scheduled shift between our operating hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. While your daily shift will not be scheduled the span of the entire day, schedules are assigned within those hours based on the needs of the school. No nights or weekends!

What You'll Do

  • Support Lead and Assistant Teachers throughout the school in a variety of classrooms.
  • Help implement engaging learning activities and daily routines.
  • Provide classroom support wherever it's needed.
  • Create a warm, safe, and engaging learning environment.
  • Supervise children indoors and outdoors while ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Prepare and organize classroom materials.
  • Assist with routine care and classroom responsibilities.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
  • Help maintain clean, organized classrooms that meet health and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in, or ability to enroll in, the Oregon Early Learning Division Central Background Registry (C ).
  • Experience working with young children is preferred.
  • Compassionate, patient, and nurturing with a genuine love for early childhood education.
  • Confident, positive, dependable, and flexible.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with caring for children.
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in early childhood education preferred.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred.
  • Develops relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and faculty members.
