Retail Sales Associate

The Duck Store is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to support our Retail Operations team. In this entry-level role, you'll greet customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, efficient service while promoting textbooks, technology, and Duck gear. Responsibilities include operating POS systems, processing payments, stocking and organizing merchandise, assisting with inventory counts, and maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment. You'll support sales events and promotions while reflecting our community-centered, inclusive culture focused on student development and engagement.

This position offers hands-on retail experience and opportunities for growth within our nonprofit organization serving the University of Oregon community.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with product selection and purchases
• Operate POS systems to process transactions accurately
• Maintain clean, organized sales floor and merchandising displays
• Restock shelves and assist with inventory counts and tagging
• Answer questions about textbooks, technology, and Duck gear
• Support sales events, promotions, and in-store campaigns
• Resolve basic customer issues or escalate as needed
• Follow cash-handling and loss-prevention procedures
• Collaborate with team members to meet store goals
