As a Maintenance Technician at Tesco across Braintree, Clacton and surrounding areas, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You will be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities- Confidently interact with external contractors, coordinating repairs seamlessly.
- Work collaboratively with the team, providing a great colleague experience and quality service.
- Sustain high energy levels while juggling tasks and maintaining efficiency.
- Assist the management team, keeping our stores operating smoothly by maintaining equipment and facilities.
- Minimise customer disruption by coordinating repairs with minimal impact on customers.
- Ensure all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
- Follow the planned work schedule to achieve first‑time fix, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
- Perform general day‑to‑day store and property maintenance.
- Use mobile devices (phone and tablet) to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.
- Represent the Tesco brand by demonstrating our core values and maintaining a positive attitude while wearing the Tesco uniform.
- Attend local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
- Support a diverse and inclusive culture.
With previous experience in a maintenance, engineering or construction environment, you will be digitally confident using a tablet to view daily work schedules and manage emails.
- ONC or equivalent.
- Full driving licence.
- Health & safety awareness.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Office 365 knowledge.
- Completed all technical training upskilling modules relevant to abilities.
- Annual bonus scheme of up to 10% of base salary.
- Holiday starting at 25 days plus a personal day (plus bank holidays).
