* ** GENERAL OVERVIEW:*
* This job is responsible for all clinical aspects of medical physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology.

* ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

*
* + Audits and reviews patient medical charts. 30%

+ Performs quality assurance/control evaluations on radiation producing machines. 20%

+ Assists with special clinical research and development projects as assigned. 10%

+ Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards. 10%

+ Advises and provides guidance to dosimetry and therapy staff and provides consultation services to attending physicians. 10%

+ Assists with the delivery of patient care for special procedures. 10%

+ Supervises and provides training to departmental staff in the application of physics. 10%

+ Other duties as assigned or requested.

* QUALIFICATIONS:

*
* Minimum

+ Master's Degree in Physics or related field from a CAMPEP-accredited program

+ 2 years of experience in Clinical experience as a medical physicist

+ CPR - American Heart Association

+ Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

+ Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

+ Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

+ One of the following:

+ Therapeutic Medical Physics Certification - American Board of Radiology (A )

+ Magnetic Resonance Imaging Physics Certification - American Board of Medical Physicists (ABMP)

+ Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification - Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM)

+ Radiation Oncology Physics Certification - Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM)

+ Magnetic Resonance Safety Certification - American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety (ABMRS)

Preferred

+ 3 or more publications in medical physics
