CNC Machinist in Jefferson Hills, PA
This role focuses on performing complex machining operations on CNC milling machines in a machine shop environment. You will produce high-quality parts efficiently, verify their accuracy with precision measuring tools, and collaborate with machinists, engineers, and project managers to solve problems and improve processes. The position requires expert knowledge of CNC machining techniques, strong math skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and shop standards.
Responsibilities- Conduct complex machining operations on CNC milling machines, including vertical and other configurations.
- Read, understand, and troubleshoot G-code to ensure accurate and efficient machining programs.
- Manufacture high-quality parts while consistently meeting production schedules and deadlines.
- Verify conformance of finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.
- Mentor and support other machinists in resolving complex machining challenges and sharing best practices.
- Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and project managers to solve technical problems and improve machining processes.
- Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment in accordance with shop safety standards.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and shop standards, including proper use of tools, equipment, and protective measures.
- Perform general machine operating duties, including setup, operation, and basic maintenance of equipment such as drill presses, shears, lathes, grinders, and other machining tools.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to machines, tooling, or programs to optimize performance.
- Carry out other duties as assigned to support production and continuous improvement initiatives.
- 4–8 years of CNC machining experience in a machine shop environment, or completion of Journeyman papers plus 2 years of experience.
- Expert knowledge of CNC machining techniques and milling practices.
- Strong machinist math skills, including trigonometry and geometry.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and GD&T.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to troubleshoot G-code and machining programs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs unassisted.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience operating a variety of machine shop equipment, including drill presses, shears, lathes, grinders, and other machining tools.
- Hands-on experience with CNC milling machines in a production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with machinists, engineers, and project managers.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support less experienced machinists.
- Solid troubleshooting skills for machine operation and process issues.

This is a Permanent position based out of Clairton, PA.
