We are seeking a Maintenance Technician Electrical for our Mon Valley plants – Clairton Works, Irvin Works, and Edgar Thomson Works. The Maintenance Technician Electrical is a core component of our maintenance forces, responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and operating a broad range of electrical systems and equipment in a heavy industrial environment to ensure continuous operations.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic systems and equipment using schematics, AC/DC systems, and PLCs.
- Provide assistance in operating functions as necessary.
- Work independently with minimal supervision or in collaboration with other maintenance technicians.
- Operate in various plant areas that may be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, or noisy.
- Minimum of one year of manufacturing/industrial experience (including relevant military service) or equivalent education. Experience may include industrial electronics, motors and controls, schematics and electrical power, print reading, computers and PLCs, electronics, AC/DC theory, power, test instruments, instrumentation, electrical maintenance, commercial construction and installation.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Position requires rotating eight‑hour shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
- Position requires overtime work as needed.
- Adherence to safety procedures/guidelines at all times. Safety is a core value and requires wearing protective gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and boots with metatarsal protection.
- Position requires punctuality, consistent attendance, and self‑direction for successful operations.
- Must pass required assessment test(s).
