About the Role Picture your day starting amid the hum of a world-class steel operation. You arrive on site, check the overnight logs, and jump into action—diagnosing a PLC fault on a crane, commissioning a repaired motor drive, and partnering with operators to keep production moving. As a Maintenance Technician Electrical, you are the go-to expert who keeps our power, controls, and automation reliable across a demanding heavy-industrial environment.

One application covers all three Mon Valley facilities:
Clairton Works, Irvin Works, and Edgar Thomson Works.

What You’ll Tackle Diagnose and repair complex electrical and electronic issues using schematics, AC/DC theory, PLCs, test instruments, and industrial best practices.

Install, maintain, and operate a wide range of electrical systems and equipment—everything from power distribution to cranes, mobile equipment, and instrumentation.

Support operating activities when needed to sustain continuous production.

Work independently with minimal supervision or collaborate closely with fellow maintenance technicians.

Rotate between areas across the plant; conditions may be hot, cold, wet, dirty, greasy, and noisy.

Schedule, Safety, and Site Realities Rotating 8-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays; overtime as required.

Strict adherence to safety procedures is non-negotiable—PPE includes hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and metatarsal boots.

Reliable attendance, punctuality, and self-direction are essential for operational success.

Qualifications High School Diploma or GED.Minimum 1 year in a manufacturing or industrial setting (military experience or equivalent education accepted). Relevant exposure can include: industrial electronics; motors and controls; schematics and electrical power; print reading; computers and PLCs; electronics; AC/DC theory; power systems; test instruments and instrumentation; electrical maintenance; commercial construction and installation.
