Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Crane Operator role located in Clanton, AL. The Crane Operator will safely operate cranes and related heavy equipment to lift, move, and place materials for site work, road construction, and piping projects. Daily tasks include inspecting equipment, setting up cranes according to load requirements and site conditions, and performing lifts in coordination with ground crews and signal persons.
The role also involves monitoring equipment performance, reporting maintenance needs, and following all safety and regulatory guidelines. The Crane Operator will work closely with supervisors and crew members to support efficient job progress and maintain a safe work area.
- Experience with lifting operations and safe load handling in construction environments.
- Proficiency operating heavy equipment and cranes in accordance with site plans and safety standards.
- Knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging practices, and proper use of slings, hooks, and hardware.
- Ability to perform routine inspection and basic maintenance of cranes and associated equipment.
- Relevant crane operator certification or license as required by state and federal regulations.
- Strong understanding of OSHA and industry safety practices for crane and heavy equipment operations.
- Ability to read and follow load charts, lift plans, and basic construction drawings.
- Effective communication skills for working with signal persons, supervisors, and crew members.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Previous experience in civil construction, road work, or utility installation is preferred.
