Forklift Operator

Performance Food Group is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to support our Warehouse & Manufacturing operations in Food & Beverage distribution. You will safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to receive, store, pick, and load food products, including refrigerated and frozen items. Responsibilities include verifying orders, rotating stock, maintaining cleanliness, and following all safety and food-handling standards while meeting productivity goals in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move, load, and unload food products
• Accurately pick, stage, and load customer orders according to paperwork and standards
• Receive inbound shipments, verify quantities, and inspect product condition
• Rotate stock using FIFO and maintain organized, clean warehouse aisles and storage areas
• Work in refrigerated and frozen environments following proper PPE and food safety procedures
• Conduct pre- and post-shift equipment inspections and report any issues immediately
• Follow all OSHA, facility safety, and traffic rules to maintain a safety-first workplace
• Use RF scanners or warehouse systems to track inventory movements and order status
• Collaborate with warehouse team and supervisors to meet productivity and accuracy goals
• Support cycle counts and inventory control activities as needed

Required Skills

• Forklift operation (sit-down and/or stand-up)
• Pallet jack and material handling equipment operation
• Knowledge of warehouse safety and OSHA guidelines
• RF scanner and basic WMS (Warehouse Management System) use
• Loading, unloading, and staging freight
• Order picking and pallet building
• Working in refrigerated and frozen warehouse environments
• Basic inventory control and stock rotation (FIFO)
• Reading and interpreting pick tickets and shipping documents
• Basic equipment inspection and maintenance checks
