RETS Associates is representing Claremont McKenna College in the search for an Associate Vice President for Construction Management & Capital Projects to roll up their sleeves and lead one of the most exciting campus transformation projects in Southern California. CMC one of the nation’s most selective liberal arts colleges is executing a master plan that will double its campus from 75 to 150+ acres, with new academic buildings, student housing, athletic facilities, and major infrastructure all in the pipeline.
This is a rare chance to leave a lasting physical mark on a world-class institution. This is a hands‑on senior leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable presenting to a Board of Trustees and walking a job site. You’ll report directly to the EVP/COO and own the full lifecycle of CMC’s capital construction program.
Core Responsibilities:
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive, hands‑on experience leading large-scale construction or capital programs
- A builder at heart with a track record of delivering complex institutional projects on time and on budget
- Higher education or similar experience is strongly preferred
- Strong communicator who can engage credibly at every level, from contractors to trustees
