Visiting Professor in Chemistry Department of Natural Sciences Scripps & Pitzer Colleges
The Chemistry Program of the Department of Natural Sciences of Pitzer and Scripps Colleges seeks to hire a visiting professor to teach in our upper‑division physical/analytical/instrumental lab and general chemistry courses, with opportunities to teach additional upper‑division courses including physical chemistry and biochemistry. The position will begin in July 2026 and is a full‑time, 12‑month appointment with the potential for renewal.
Rank will be either Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Professor, depending on experience.
- Teach upper‑division physical/analytical/instrumental laboratory courses and general chemistry courses.
- Possibly teach additional upper‑division courses such as physical chemistry and biochemistry.
- Direct undergraduate research projects if available.
- Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field before the start of the appointment.
- Prior teaching experience strongly preferred.
The salary for this position will range from $78,000 to $85,000 and will be set based on experience.
