PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Associate Registrar & Transcript Evaluation Specialist is a critical role which manages the evaluation of academic transcripts by recognizing prior learning to facilitate the academic progression of students s position requires a deep understanding of specialized evaluation processes including international credit evaluations, military evaluations, credit for prior learning, alternative credentialing, articulation agreements, and prior learning assessment (PLA).

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Transcript Evaluation and Processing:
    Apply forward-thinking strategies to transfer credit acceptance that support equitable student outcomes while maintaining institutional integrity and compliance. Oversee the comprehensive evaluation of incoming transcripts for transfer credits, ensuring alignment with CLU's academic standards and program requirements. This includes the evaluation of international credit evaluations, military transcripts, credits for prior learning, and other non-traditional sources of credit.
  • External Transcript Processing:
    Download official external transcripts, confirm accreditation, and upload transcripts to the Student Information System.
  • Transcript Requests:
    Process requests for CLU transcripts.
  • Education Verifications:
    Process requests for enrollment and grade verifications after confirming that the student has provided signed consent.
  • Collaborate Effectively Across All Departments:
    Work closely with academic departments to understand program requirements and ensure that transcript evaluations support learners' educational goals. Collaborate with all departments; present ideas for streamlining processes, share recommendations, and support organizational and departmental goals.
  • Management of Articulation Agreements:
    Maintain and update articulation agreements ensuring that credits are transferred accurately and efficiently.
  • Prior Learning Assessment (PLA):
    Manage processes for PLA, allowing students to receive academic credit for learning acquired outside traditional academic environments.
  • Compliance and Best Practices:
    Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies related to transcript evaluation and credit recognition. Stay abreast of best practices in the field and implement improvements to processes and policies.
