Position Overview:

The primary responsibilities of the Adjunct Faculty member are the development and delivery of lectures, laboratory sessions, and clinical skills for Master of Science in Physician Associate Studies (MSPA) program students in MSPA 5144 Clinical and Diagnostic Skills (24 hours) during the Fall semester (September 18 to December 11). In this course, students learn basic clinical and diagnostic skills to include interpretation of diagnostic testing and the performance of clinical procedures.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate active learning strategies and an engaging classroom environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to use creative approaches to academic program development, have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and work effectively in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of a Master’s degree (from an ARC-PA accredited program or equivalent post PA-C Master’s degree) A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a PA including proficiency in performing clinical procedures in a clinical setting. A current NCCPA certification and current PA licensure or eligibility for PA licensure in California.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

Teaches 30-hours in the 4-credit hour, semester-long course for 15 weeks;

Designs active learning activities to build technical skills;

Develops formative and summative assessments with case studies and lab practicals;

Evaluates student performance (e.g., written assignments, examinations, lab practicals);

Other duties as assigned.
