The Claremont School District is located in the beautiful and picturesque Upper Valley Area of New Hampshire. The Claremont School District is approximately 35 minutes from Mount Sunapee Ski Resort and 30 minutes from all of the concerts and athletic events at Dartmouth College in Hanover. The Connecticut River flows nearby, making kayaking and canoeing very convenient after work and on the weekends.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (in a physical science) and hold a NH Educator Certification or be eligible for a site-based learning plan, as demonstrated by a statement of eligibility.

Job Goals:

• The social studies teacher maintains an advanced mastery of historical, geographical, and civic content, effectively designing inquiry-based lessons that challenge students to analyze primary sources and diverse perspectives.
• Through the use of document-based questions and evidence-based writing, the teacher assesses mastery of critical thinking skills and monitors each student's ability to synthesize complex societal information.
• By fostering a classroom culture rooted in civil discourse, the teacher establishes a positive environment where students practice informed citizenship and clear, respectful communication.
• Furthermore, the teacher employs specialized instructional techniques such as simulations and archival research while continually refining strategies to improve student engagement and managing a collaborative, structured learning environment.
• Finally, the teacher fulfills all professional responsibilities, contributing to school-level goals by promoting literacy across the social sciences and supporting policies that cultivate a globally aware and civically engaged student body.
