Life Skills Special Education Teacher

Building Principal

Terms of Employment

Full‑Time, up to 185 days.

Qualifications
  • State certification as a Special Education Teacher.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to teaching assignments, New Hampshire educator certification, or eligibility for a site‑based learning plan demonstrated with a statement of eligibility.
  • Successful prior special education teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will maximize the learning experience for students with special needs in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living by implementing district‑approved curriculum and the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Responsibilities include documenting teaching and student progress, tracking outcomes, addressing students’ specific needs, and providing a safe and optimal learning environment. The role also requires the ability to case‑manage students, which involves communication with parents and guardians, writing IEPs, holding meetings, and meeting compliance deadlines.
