Description:

The primary responsibility of the Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist is to select appropriate equipment for use in ultrasound setup, following exam specifications.
The technologist explains and performs the procedure with consideration to the patient's level of understanding and age appropriateness.
The technologist is able to assess patient pain that interferes with the imaging procedure and makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
The technologist performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical or healthcare errors.
The technologist selects a transducer and adjusts the equipment controls according to the body part to be examined, the depth of field, and other specifications of the test.
The technologist understands and practices the proper use of all equipment.
The technologist performs procedures in accordance with established standards and protocols.
The technologist documents patient information appropriately.
The dress code consists of personal scrubs in any color.
The technologist is expected to maintain compliance with all licensing and certification requirements.
