Ultrasound​/Vascular Technologist

Role Overview

The Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist's primary responsibilities entail the following:

• Equipment Selection: Appropriately selects ultrasound equipment in alignment with specific exam protocols and specifications.
• Procedure Execution: Articulates and performs ultrasound procedures, tailoring explanations to the patient’s age and comprehension level.
• Patient Assessment: Evaluates patient pain levels that may interfere with imaging processes and collaborates with physicians for necessary interventions.
• Patient Safety and Quality Care: Delivers comprehensive patient care within a framework that maximizes safety and minimizes risks of medical errors.
• Transducer and Equipment Management: Chooses the correct transducer and makes necessary adjustments to equipment controls based on the anatomy being examined, depth of field, and other technical requirements.
• Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrates thorough understanding and adept handling of ultrasound equipment according to established operational standards.
• Adherence to Protocols: Executes procedures in accordance with established guidelines and protocols, ensuring compliance with best practices.
• Documentation: Accurately documents patient information and imaging results as per clinical protocols.
• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly adjusts and maintains ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• Minimum of two years of experience in Ultrasound/Vascular technology.
• Current registration with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), maintaining minimal certifications including Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in abdomen (AB) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
• Current Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS) certification.
