- Must be willing to float - this is a float position!
- High proficiency in both ED and MS/PCU required
- Experience with MS, ED, and PCU/MS required
- Rural/small facility experience - highly preferred
- COVID vaccination required for this need
- ACLS required, PALS or ENPC required within 6 months of hire

Unit Information:
The facility is a general medical and surgical 25-bed hospital located in Claremont, New Hampshire. It was established in 1893. As a 25-bed, 24/7-staffed emergency department hospital, it is the only such facility. The facility has served the people of Claremont and surrounding towns for more than 100 years. Evolving with the needs of its patients, the hospital has grown from its humble start as Cottage Hospital to the modern healthcare center for excellence it is today.
For more than 30 years, the facility has been able to serve the needs of our community. Most recently, we have completed substantial updates in 2010, creating private patient rooms, expanding the emergency department, and improving access to services. We have focused on internal renovations and upgrades, which has been able to keep pace with the continually changing best practices of the healthcare industry.
Job Description:
Hourly Range: $31.00 - $43.00 (based on years of experience)
Salary Range: $64,480 - $89,440 (based on 40 hour work week)

Position Summary:
Provides professional nursing care within the department assigned; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient's status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies.
Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes: pediatric, geriatric, and the general patient population.
- Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
- Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
- Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age.
- Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
- Follows the SIX (6) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
- Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate.
- Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
- Demonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services to level licensure.
- Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately based upon ACLS protocol.
- Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
- Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
