POSITION SUMMARY:
This faculty position is for a healthcare educator responsible for providing high-quality instruction in classroom and laboratory settings to students pursuing careers in allied health fields (such as pre-physical therapy, pre-athletic training, pre-occupational therapy and fitness management). Instruction is delivered across various modalities including face-to-face, hybrid and online formats.
This is a full-time, 10-month appointment.
The Associate Dean of the School of Nursing & Health Professions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Assume all professional responsibilities of a full-time faculty member.
- Participate in institutional service activities.
- Actively participate in discipline, department, and university committees
- Maintain familiarity with current texts, instructional materials, teaching aids and techniques related to courses within the discipline and recommend their adoption when appropriate.
- Update and revise course content and teaching methodology to maintain currency and relevance according to the curriculum plan.
- Participate in program assessment and continuous improvement efforts.
- Participate in research and scholarly activities independently or collaboratively.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with Associate Dean to make budget recommendations and capital planning.
- Participate in faculty meetings and departmental initiatives.
- Participate in full academic regalia in official graduation ceremonies.
- Collaborate in small and large group settings on programmatic and curricular decisions.
- Master’s degree in allied health related field; with preference given to a Master’s of Science in Exercise Science.
- Master’s degree in Exercise Science or
- Doctorate in an allied health field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Exercise Sciences
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)

- Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of office technology and the aptitude to learn applicable computer software.
- Effective teaching, learning and course assessment skills.
- Knowledge of curriculum principles and design
- Maintenance of confidentiality in work performance.
- Ability to resolve problems and conflict.
- Success with diverse student and faculty/staff recruitment initiatives.
- Independently initiate and complete comprehensive work assignments
- Organize and implement work procedures
- Plan, organize, and direct the tasks of others
- Research, gather, analyze, and interpret data
- Full-time position with 40 hours/week.
- Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
- Hours are variable, generally 8 am to 5 pm with occasional evening and/or weekends dependent upon program or campus events.
