PAFFORD MEDICAL SERVICES IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR ROGERS COUNTY

FULLTIME PARAMEDIC POSITION AVAILABLE

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Provides Advanced Life Support including medical evaluation, treatment, and stabilization of the critically ill and injured; responds to emergency rescue situations involving potential loss of life or bodily injury; maintains control and directs patient care at the scene of a pre‑hospital emergency; provides training and instruction to lesser trained personnel; performs other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
  • Provides and directs fast, efficient Advanced Life Support to the ill and injured utilizing all basic and advanced abilities and techniques, including placement of peripheral and intra‑osseous lines, supraglottic airways, endotracheal intubation, cricothyrotomy, fluid and drug therapy, cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, defibrillation, and cardioversion.
  • Recognizes and understands a medical emergency and makes reasonable differential diagnosis.
  • Performs critical physical examinations.
  • Recognizes common cardiac dysrhythmias and understands the principles and treatment modalities for life‑threatening dysrhythmias.
  • Understands and anticipates pharmacological treatment of critically ill and injured patients.
  • Anticipates potentially life‑threatening non‑cardiac emergencies and implements appropriate therapy.
  • Deals with medical and emotional needs of victims with the goal of reducing mortality and morbidity.
  • Manages and directs all first responders at the scene of a medical emergency such as EMR's, Police Departments, and EMT's.
  • Ensures quality patient‑care as established by the Company.
  • Files standardized reports of patient information and care for administrative use, including nature of request, pertinent past history, diagnosis, disposition, and billing information.
  • Maintains effective communication with physicians on duty at hospital to obtain orders for treatment.
  • Follows protocol when physician cannot be contacted.
  • Transports ill and injured patients to institutions of medical care.
  • Operates emergency vehicles safely under all conditions.
  • Completes patient statistics and medical information forms for administrative use.
  • Performs technical rescues in remote and varied terrain and circumstances.
  • Follows standard operating policies and procedures as directed by the Company.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment.
ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
  • Cleans and maintains vehicles (minor maintenance).
  • Cleans and maintains vehicle quarters.
  • Maintains records of vehicles, supplies, training, and daily work.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
GENERAL INFORMATION

The supervisor assigns shifts and scopes of work. Incumbents perform work according to procedures, policies, and medical orders. Judgement is exercised in applying proper guidelines. Work is spot‑checked and evaluated based on feedback from patients, medical staff, and others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must possess and maintain a Paramedic License.
  • CPR certification for Health Care Provider.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Good knowledge of street systems, addresses, and physical layout of the area and evacuation equipment.
  • Strong technical medical skills with high accuracy.
  • Ability to handle emotional and medical needs of patients in emergency situations.
  • Professional and objective approach to patient care.
  • Continuous learning of new rescue and medical techniques.
  • Ability to perform advanced medical equipment usage and testing.
  • Maintenance of professional attitude and teamwork.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Incumbent must operate emergency medical vehicles, move medical equipment, and extract injured persons from varied environments. The role may require carrying or assisting in transporting patients across varied terrain, including hills, steep, rocky, rough, and wet/slippery surfaces. Continuous physical assessment and communication with patients are required. Uniform and equipment maintenance is mandatory, and a company‑issued pager or radio must be carried at all times.
