CNC Machinist
The CNC Machinist sets up, operates, and edits programs on CNC mills or lathes, ensuring parts meet customer specifications while maintaining a safe, organized, and climate-controlled work area during the night shift.
Responsibilities- Interpret and apply detailed customer specifications to machining operations.
- Enter precise specifications and offsets into CNC machines, including HAAS equipment.
- Set up tooling and fixtures for CNC mills or lathes to meet job requirements.
- Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently during the night shift, monitoring performance and quality throughout production runs.
- Edit CNC programs as needed to improve quality, accuracy, or efficiency within approved parameters.
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet tolerances.
- Inspect finished parts and adjust machine settings to maintain consistent quality.
- Follow 5S principles to keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures while operating complex machinery and handling tools.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and support staff to address issues and improve processes.
- Perform other machining and related duties as assigned to support production needs.
- Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and/or CNC mills.
- Ability to set up, operate, and edit programs on HAAS CNC machines.
- CNC programming and editing skills sufficient to adjust existing programs on the shop floor.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers.
- Above-average math skills to interpret dimensions, tolerances, and machining calculations.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards.
- Demonstrated excellent critical thinking skills to troubleshoot issues and optimize processes.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members.
- Ability to handle complex machines and tools safely and efficiently.
- Availability to work a night shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with both turning (lathe) and milling operations in a production environment.
- Familiarity with 5S principles and continuous improvement practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Comfort working with climate-controlled CNC machining centers and related equipment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and perform additional duties as assigned.

WorkEnvironment
The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility focused on CNC machining operations. You will work primarily on CNC mills or lathes, including HAAS machines, using precision tools such as micrometers and other measuring devices.
The schedule for night shift is, Monday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with an additional shift differential for working these hours.
Weekend shift is Friday-Sunday 6am-6pm work 36 hours get paid for 40 hours
The workplace follows 5S and safety protocols, emphasizing cleanliness, organization, and safe operation of complex machinery.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Claremore, OK.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
