Description

Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking a Hairpin Machine Operator to join our team in Claremore, Oklahoma
. The Hairpin Machine Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a hairpin-forming machine used to cut, bend, and shape 3/8-inch copper tubing into precise hairpin configurations. This role ensures all parts meet quality standards, maintains equipment, and supports production goals in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor the hairpin machine used for cutting and bending 3/8” copper tube.
  • Adjust machine settings to achieve required lengths, bend angles, and production specifications.
  • Perform changeovers and tooling adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect tubing for correct dimensions, bend accuracy, and surface quality.
  • Use calipers, gauges, and measuring tools to verify part specifications.
  • Identify defects or machine inconsistencies and take corrective action.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
  • Report mechanical issues to maintenance or supervision promptly.
  • Follow all safety procedures including PPE requirements and lock-out/tag-out when necessary.
  • Meet daily production quotas while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Record production output, scrap, and downtime in logs or digital systems.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area List

Hayden Industrial has determined this position involves safety-sensitive job duties and will be considered a safety-sensitive position for purpose of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act (“The Unity Bill.”) effective August 29th, 2019.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Manufacturing or machine-operation experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, production drawings, and measurements.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Experience working with copper tubing or soft metals preferred
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices preferred

Supervisor Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:
Non-temperature controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, (paint masks, respirator, when required) and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing duties of this job, the employee in this position is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. This position requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop. The employee occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

No travel is required for this position.
