About the Opportunity:

Tree Top Staffing is partnering with a growing aerospace and precision manufacturing organization seeking a Machining Technology Process Engineer to help drive advanced machining strategy, process improvement, and technology implementation across a highly technical, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

This is a strategic, hands-on technical role for someone who is deeply experienced in machining and manufacturing process improvement. The right person will bring strong machining expertise, an owner’s mindset, and the ability to identify practical ways to make the operation faster, smarter, more efficient, and more capable.

This role will focus on improving machining processes, supporting New Product Introduction, advancing tooling and work holding strategies, evaluating new technologies, and helping the organization continue building a world-class machining operation.

What You’ll Do:
  • Serve as a machining subject matter expert across manufacturing, engineering, quality, programming, and operations.
  • Identify inefficient, ineffective, or unreliable machining processes and develop solutions to improve throughput, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Support New Product Introduction efforts and provide technical input on manufacturability, process development, and first-run machined parts.
  • Partner with CNC programming, quality, engineering, operations, and outside technical experts to improve machining performance.
  • Research and recommend new machining technologies, automation opportunities, cutting tools, fixtures, work holding, and equipment improvements.
  • Lead or support special projects from concept through implementation.
  • Analyze existing production workflows and identify opportunities to streamline processes.
  • Support root cause and corrective action efforts to ensure improvements are implemented and sustained.
  • Lead or support job safety analysis and safe process implementation.
  • Help drive continuous improvement initiatives across the machining operation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, inspectors, technicians, machinists, and leadership to solve complex production and process challenges.
  • Support custom production needs, including complex parts, changing engineering requirements, and iterative problem-solving when parts or processes need to be refined.
  • Communicate clearly with shop-floor teams, technical departments, and leadership regarding project status, process changes, and improvement opportunities.
What We’re Looking For:
  • 5 to 10 years of related manufacturing and machining experience.
  • Strong hands‑on machining knowledge and the ability to serve as a true machining technical resource.
  • Experience improving manufacturing processes, reducing cycle times, improving quality, increasing throughput, or lowering cost.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining, tooling, fixturing, work holding, process flow, and production problem‑solving.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction, first‑run parts, prototyping, reverse engineering, or process development.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace or regulated manufacturing quality standards, including AS9100.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, root cause analysis, corrective action, or similar continuous improvement methods.
  • Familiarity with CAD, CAM, PLM, ERP, and related manufacturing systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with machinists, programmers, engineers, inspectors, technicians, and senior leadership.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, space, DOD, or other highly technical manufacturing programs preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Formal education, certifications, or training in machining, manufacturing, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Manufacturing…
