Class B Structure Welder
Welding Execution:
Perform single-pass and multi-pass fillet welds using Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), or Flux-Cored (FCAW) methods on heavy steel.
Material Prep & Finishing:
Read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, prep joints, and clean metal using grinders, torches, and chipping hammers.
Inspection & Maintenance:
Verify dimensions with measuring tools and keep gear safe and clean.
Safety Compliance:
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow shop safety rules.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience:
2 to 5 years of hands-on structural or industrial welding experience.
Certifications:
Ability to pass standard plate tests (like a 3G MIG/Flux Core test) and hold position certifications for vertical and overhead welding.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for long shifts, kneel, and lift heavy materials up to 50–70 lbs.
