Job Title: Customer Service / Sales Clerk (Cashier)
Reports To: Store Manager
Hours: 9-6 M-F 8-5 Saturday (Saturdays required)

SUMMARYCustomer focused organization requiring a team member to engage guests, provide outstanding customer service including stocking merchandise, totaling bill, accepting payments, and making change using a computerized cash register in a retail store setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Obtains or receives merchandise selected by customer for checkout.
- Answers customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
- Determine price using discount schedule if necessary on merchandise for customers.
- Accepts payment and makes changes, wraps or bags merchandise for customers.
- Removes cash in register and puts it in a bank bag.
- Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
- Sets up displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
- Check and organize merchandise.
- Takes inventory of stock.
- Present a positive image and demeanor at all times.
- Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with customers and co‑workers.
- May have responsibility in ordering merchandise.
- Ability to be flexible with schedule and work changes.
- Clean store, dust merchandise on shelves, sweep floor, empty trash.
- Conduct customer transactions and duties in an ethical and professional manner at all times.
- Regular and sustained attendance.
- Employee must perform all other duties as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONSMust possess a passion for customer service excellence to join Stillwater Milling Company as a Customer Service/ Sales Clerk. The candidate will warmly greet and assist customers with their merchandise selections, provide accurate information, and maintain store and money management. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, basic math and computer skills, proficiency in communication, creativity, flexibility, attention to detail, and a willingness to work as a team.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must be 18 or older.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCurrent and valid driver’s license preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to communicate effectively using both verbal and written communication to management and co‑workers; read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and e‑mails; write simple correspondence; present information in one‑to‑one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, discounts, proportions and percent and interpret graphs if necessary.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLSComputer skills and experience required, with emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite. Minimum typing speed of 30-35 words per minute. Experience with a 10-key calculator preferred. Daily use of numbers required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSEmployee must stand on a concrete floor, walk frequently, reach, and handle merchandise. Must lift up to 10 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to sit, climb or balance, and stoop or kneel as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment may involve occasional outdoor weather conditions, moderate to moderate+ noise levels, exposure to farm chemicals, fertilizers, and grain dust. Employees with allergies or contact lens wearers may find conditions unfavorable.
