Instrumentation and Electrical Technician – Verdigris Plant
Position Overview:
A safety-sensitive role responsible for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of instruments, automation systems, and electrical distribution systems. The technician works onsite and reports to the Supervisor of Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E).
- Uphold safety standards and participate in safety programs.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of electronic instruments and control systems throughout the plant.
- Improve safety and efficiency by tuning control loops and maintaining valves and actuators.
- Maintain and install electrical systems and motors, handling voltages up to 4160 VAC.
- Participate in HAZOPs, change management, and procurement for I&E infrastructure maintenance and design.
- Support the implementation and documentation of projects across the plant.
- Accomplish additional tasks as directed by management.
- High School Diploma or GED; post‑secondary technical education in instrumentation is advantageous.
- Two years of relevant experience in process instrumentation and control systems.
- Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with HART instrumentation, DCS, and BMS is beneficial.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Perform tasks involving valves, controls, and various equipment.
- Work in environments with extreme temperatures, vibrations, limited ventilation, noise, moving parts, electrical currents, steam, working at heights, chemicals, fumes, and oils.
