Your Role as a Journeyman CarpenterWe are looking to hire a skilled Carpenter with knowledge of various carpentry techniques. You will be responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings. Other duties will include designing, cutting and measuring materials according to a client’s requirements or provided blueprints.
A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable, and have good communication and organizational skills. You must also have completed an apprenticeship in carpentry or have equivalent experience in the construction field. Our work ranges from turn key residential, commercial projects and some residential remodel work. This job is physically and mentally demanding, but very rewarding when it comes to building. You must also be able to work efficiently outdoors and in changing elements for at least 8 hours a day.
Candidates shall be responsible for constructing and repairing commercial buildings and custom homes according to a client’s requirements or provided blueprints.
Your specific responsibilities will be dynamic but you’ll find yourself primarily involved in:- Rough framing and general carpentry
- Finish and trim
- Interior and exterior trim
- Siding
- Job Site cleanup and organization
Journeymen Carpenters are focused, organized, and willing to learn; with a record of outstanding performance, high learning agility, and good communication skills.
We’re looking for individuals who can:- Provide outstanding communication and work ethic and performance
- Understand and respect OSHA safety standards and company policies
- Read and understand plans for residential and light commercial projects
- Understand construction mathematics
- Understand common building practices and CBC
- Assist job site Supervisor in layout and material counts
- Use the tools necessary to build and repair residential projects
- Lead others in an efficient manner
- Assess the quality of materials being used and the product being created
- Perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including working outdoors for prolonged periods, climbing, pulling, and lifting 80 + lbs
- Basic hand tools
- Reliable transportation and a valid CA driver’s license
- Professional, positive attitude and appearance
- Must be familiar with construction safety practice s
