Seton Montessori School is actively seeking an Infant and Toddler Lead Teacher to join the Seton Montessori Institute & School community in the beautiful area of Clarendon Hills, IL, beginning in August 2026.
The position is a full-time, year-round opportunity to work with children, an exceptional team, and to receive comprehensive benefits at a highly regarded Lab School for the Seton Montessori Institute teacher education program.
Seton Montessori School offers school year and summer camp programs for children from birth through Elementary age. Located on a scenic six-acre campus, nestled amid a residential setting, Seton’s facilities provide children with the finest indoor and outdoor environments for learning and growth.
The experienced and dedicated staff assists children in developing an awareness of themselves and the world around them. Children work and learn in an atmosphere of balanced independence and structure within a mixed-age group setting.
Founded in 1965, Seton Montessori School is an Accredited AMS School and serves as a Lab School for the Seton Montessori Institute, one of the largest Montessori teacher education programs in North America. Consequently, the staff practices the most current and progressive teaching methods in an authentic Montessori classroom. Seton Montessori is committed to the highest quality implementation of the Montessori pedagogy.
Responsibilities- Create and support a welcoming and inclusive culture.
- Safeguard the academic integrity of the classroom in accordance with the Montessori pedagogy and AMS accreditation standards.
- Execute educational and administrative policies.
- Ensure a complete, beautiful, and age-appropriate Montessori learning environment.
- Embody the scientific pedagogy through regular observation, record keeping, reflection, and appropriate action to meet the needs of children in the class.
- Partner with parents/guardians regularly to support their children’s progress.
- Monitor the general safety of children.
- Collaborate actively with colleagues.
- Direct and develop assistants and student teachers.
- Support the work of Seton Montessori Institute as either a supervising teacher, field visitor, teaching assistant, or faculty presenter.
- Physical dexterity and ability to lift children up to 40 pounds.
- Hold or be actively working toward a bachelor's degree in any subject.
- Hold or be actively working towards an Infant and Toddler Montessori Credential.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with children.
- Completion of Illinois DCFS requirements and background check.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Bachelor's Degree in any subject.
- Montessori Infant and Toddler certification from a MACTE-accredited program.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with children.

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
