Senior Civil Engineer - Aviation

The Jacobs Aviation Team in NY/NJ is experiencing exciting growth within our established practice therefore we have a need for an experienced Aviation Civil Engineer to support airfield civil engineering projects.

In this role you'll have the opportunity to execute 3D modeling of surfaces, airports, and pipelines as well as execute development of detailed construction drawings for civil projects.  Using your experience, you'll collaborate and coordinate with multiple design disciplines throughout the design process and can mentor civil technicians with less experience.

Key Responsibilities:

-    Develop site civil designs for airfield projects, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.

-    Development of surface models for airfield projects using Civil 3D.

-    Ability to collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure the design meets project specifications and regulatory requirements.

-    Manage and organize documents using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

-    Assist in the development of design plans for airfield projects and other civil design tasks.

-    Support project teams in meeting schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

-    Review and interpret survey data for integration into design models.

-    Bachelor's degree

-    Substantial years related experience in a professional civil engineering setting that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position.

-    EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification is minimum; PE license or ability to obtain license in NY/NJ is strongly preferred.

-    Knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and airfield design requirements.

-    Experience in design of airfield/site civil projects including alignments, profiles, typical sections, site grading and drainage.

-    Knowledge and experience with NY/NJ & PANYNJ aviation requirements and standards.

-    Ability to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.

-    Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

-    Understanding of the latest releases of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Co Pilot

-    Experience using Bluebeam Sessions for drawing markup and quality control

-    Ability to effectively communication information to project team and clients

-    Ability to read, analyze and interpret red line drawings from Engineers, Managers, or others on the project team.

-    Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate with multiple design disciplines

-    Planning and organizational skills and ability to see a project through to completion

-    Excellent attention to detail of complex civil design components
