The Charles City Fire Department is seeking dedicated, community-minded individuals to join our team as Volunteer Firefighters. This position offers unparalleled training, camaraderie, and the opportunity to provide critical fire suppression and emergency response service to the community.

• Receive specialized training to handle fire suppression, rescue operations, and hazardous materials incidents.
• Participate in challenging situations that require both physical stamina and mental toughness.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be 18 years old or older at the time of employment.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid State driver’s license by time of hire.
• No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories within the past seven years.

• Ability to achieve Firefighter I and Haz Mat Operations level training, and CPR certifications within the set probationary period.
• Attend monthly training & meetings at 7pm on the second and last Monday of each month.
