Senior Developer, Operations Color & Artwork
As the Senior Color and Artwork developer, you will be the point person responsible for delivery of timely and cost-effective color and decoration of new product launches and maintenance of basic packaging business activities. Lead new and improved color & artwork processes that will result in effective cost reduction and harmonization programs for new or existing products.
A Day in the Life- Lead Color Excellence: Oversee all color-matching activities across various materials and components to ensure aesthetic consistency and high-quality standards.
- Manage C&A Deliverables: Take full ownership of the Color & Artwork process, from receiving initial targets and technical briefs to conducting on-site press approvals and ensuring the factories have approved standards prior to production.
- Sustainability & Cost Optimization: Propose cost-effective decoration solutions that align with L’Oréal’s global sustainability commitments.
- Timeline Creation & Management: Establish and drive project schedules, ensuring all key milestones for color and decoration are met in alignment with the broader launch milestones.
- Strategic
Risk Management:
Proactively identify technical risks and constraints, utilizing Risk Assessments to alert partners and implement mitigation plans. - Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate between Marketing, Development, Technical Packaging and suppliers on achieving desired color & artwork targets.
- Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to optimize color and artwork processes and improve operational flexibility, demonstrating the ability to manage complex business activities beyond technical color specs.
- Education: A completed Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or a related engineering/technical discipline is required.
- Experience:
- 1-3 years’ experience in proven package development project work/quality experience is required.
- Experience in cosmetics, consumer goods, or related field is preferred.
- Travel to vendors and plants will be a requirement (10-15% of time).
- Proficient PC skills – Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficient communication skills (written & verbal), to be able to deal effectively with all levels of our organization and our suppliers.
- Good organizational skills to manage the documentation, materials and information.
- Develop and maintain a professional knowledge of new or emerging trends and technologies in packaging.
- Must be team oriented and able to create strong relationships with all cross funcional partners.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis is required. No immigration support/sponsorship offered for this role.
- The ability to be onsite, in the office 3 days a week, as this is an essential function of the position, including our NY and NJ sites (required).

- Base Salary Range: $77,400 - $110,300 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level).
