About the Position
We are seeking a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment in West Virginia, starting Feb 2, 2026.
This role offers multiple 12-hour shifts across day and night rotations, Wednesday through Tuesday. Physicians will provide comprehensive emergency care in a dynamic department setting, supporting patient stabilization and transfer as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties
Provide evaluation, emergent treatment, and management for life- and limb-threatening conditions, resuscitation, stabilization, triage, diagnosis, and disposition
Deliver initial and emergent care for minor wound care, respiratory, gastrointestinal, burns, musculoskeletal trauma, dermatological, ENT, eye, and urological issues
Perform minor procedures such as local infiltration anesthesia, incision and drainage, simple laceration repair, nail trephination, electro-coagulation, nasal cautery, gastric lavage, bladder catheterization, peripheral venous line insertion, and spinal immobilization
Manage abdominal, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, hematopoietic, endocrine, metabolic, nutritional, head/neck, musculoskeletal, nervous system, psychiatric, respiratory, renal/urologic, and OB/GYN emergencies
Conduct major procedures in the emergency department, including central venous and arterial catheter placement, chest tube or needle thoracostomy, peritoneal lavage, defibrillation, synchronized cardioversion, endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, proctoscopy/anoscopy, pericardiocentesis, fracture and dislocation reduction, arthrocentesis, regional anesthesia, procedural sedation, temporary pacemaker placement, and cricothyroidotomy
Suture minor lacerations
Stabilize and transfer patients requiring a higher level of care
Additional Information
Must be board certified in Emergency Medicine
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
Must provide 2 years of case logs for intubation and central lines
Start date is dependent on credentialing timeframe
